Effective Blog Comments

I believe commenting on posts/blogs are a vital part of what makes twitter, facebook, and blogs and effective source of news. People can get news and updates from many places such as TV or the newspaper, but when you get your news from a blog you can give feedback and also read other peoples opinions as well. Another reason I believe comments are important is because they allow people to make a personal connection to the person they are following.

I think when you decide to comment on a blog you should try and give some type of feedback to what you have read or perhaps even share a link to similar information that the poster may be interested in. Another effective way comment would be to simply thank the poster for the news they have shared. If you liked the blog let the writer know you are enjoying their work.

My Dream PR Job (TOW)

I think its interesting how I came about the PR field and I would like to take a moment to share that with everyone. I was at one point a general communications major, and then I pretty much stumbled upon the PR track because a friend of mine was doing it. I immediately fell in love with the classes and teachers and realized PR was exactly what I was looking for in a career. After some thinking I realized all the potential jobs I could get with a degree in public relations and decided it would be worth my time to change majors. My dream job would be working with a professional sports team either baseball, football, or basketball handling media relations, writing news releases, and organizing special events. I have also recently become interested in the advertising and would love to contribute to that aspect of a company as well. we spoke in class about how advertising PR and marketing all blend together and i found that very interesting.

Article on the history of PR

I wanted to share this article because I thought it was interesting that the history of PR is now being studied. When I think of PR I think of it as a newer media relations field and something that has become more popular and established in more recent times. This article ties in with some of the things we spoke about in class because it talks about how PR was around long before it was ever called Public Relations. It also talks about how it wasn't until the last few decades that PR has been recognized as a key discipline is the communications field.
